[PATCH] ASoC: nau8821: Add DMI quirk mechanism for active-high jack-detect

Add a quirk mechanism to allow specifying that active-high jack-detection should be used on platforms where this info is not available in devicetree. And add an entry for the Positivo CW14Q01P-V2 to the DMI table, so that jack-detection will work properly on this laptop. The LPASS macro drivers all acquire a number of clocks, but give no indication when clk_get() fails, making it hard to identify and debug system configuration issues. Make these drivers provide useful debug information when this happens. Hardware: HP laptop models - HP Dragonfly Folio 13.5 inch - HP Envy x360 15-ew0xxx - HP Envy 16-h0xxx all with codec Realtek ALC245 (ALC287 variant) and Cirrus Logic Smart Amplifier chipset CSC3551) codec vendor_id: 0x10ec0245, subsystem_id: 0x103c8a29, revision_id:0x100001 Kernel version: 6.2+ Output of alsa-info.sh attached (with the patch applied) Problem description: The CSC3551 chipset does not get initialized correctly in aforementioned laptop models. While the rest of snd-hda-intel recognizes the hardware correctly, the smart amplifier does not get initialized so that the built-in loudspeakers do not work. However, it is accessed without holding the lock when is accessed in snd_hdac_regmap_sync(): if (codec->regmap) In my opinion, this may be a harmful race, because if codec->regmap is set to NULL right after the condition is checked, a null-pointer dereference can occur in the called function regcache_sync(): map->lock(map->lock_arg); --> Line 360 in drivers/base/regmap/regcache.c To fix this possible null-pointer dereference caused by data race, the mutex_lock coverage is extended to protect the if statement as well as the function call to regcache_sync(). [ Note: the lack of the regmap_lock itself is harmless for the current codec driver implementations, as snd_hdac_regmap_sync() is only for PM runtime resume that is prohibited during the codec probe. So eapd verbs are needed to initialize the amplifiers. They can be added during boot to get working sound out of internal speaker. However, it is accessed without holding the lock when is accessed in snd_hdac_regmap_sync(): if (codec->regmap) In my opinion, this may be a harmful race, because if codec->regmap is set to NULL right after the condition is checked, a null-pointer dereference can occur in the called function regcache_sync(): map->lock(map->lock_arg); --> Line 360 in drivers/base/regmap/regcache.c To fix this possible null-pointer dereference caused by data race, the mutex_lock coverage is extended to protect the if statement as well as the function call to regcache_sync(). [ Note: the lack of the regmap_lock itself is harmless for the current codec driver implementations, as snd_hdac_regmap_sync() is only for PM runtime resume that is prohibited during the codec probe. So eapd verbs are needed to initialize the amplifiers. They can be added during boot to get working sound out of internal speaker.
