HDMI audio broken in 1.2.7 for old laptops

alsa-project/alsa-lib issue #235 was opened from hwpfeil: Tag 1.2.7 breaks HDMI audio on HP laptops with AMD A6-5200 APU (video works). No HDMI option in System Settings|Audio Devices, both KDE and XFCE. Reverting to 1.2.6.1 restores the HDMI Audio Device. There should come a time when such dinosaurs are declared obsolete and no longer supported. They can keep running on 1.2.6.1. Not sure if it needs fixing. alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf issue #165 was edited from Lastique: I'm having a problem with getting audio from the microphone connected to the rear panel jack. Also, if I connect the headset to the front panel headphone/mic jacks, I get neither audio out or in. My main concern is the rear panel jack though. In `/usr/share/alsa/ucm2/USB-Audio/USB-Audio.conf` added hardware id of my USB Audio device (`0b05:1a27`) to the `realtek-alc4080` rule. Also added the hardware id in `/usr/share/alsa/ucm2/USB-Audio/Realtek/ALC4080-HiFi.conf`, in the `asus-rog-usb` block condition. 4. Rebooted. 5. The headset is connected to the rear panel (Front out and Mic in jacks; also tried Line in). There are three devices for the USB Audio card, and there are three volume controls in alsamixer: "Line", "Mic" and "Analog In". The problem is that there is no audio coming from the first two devices (which are presumably "Line" and "Mic"). New device naming breaks HDMI audio if ELD lookup fails

alsa-project/alsa-lib issue #233 was opened from berolinux: The new device naming introduced by commit 859448f01033b40feebf9a0aab467ba57a655b5b breaks HDMI audio if the ELD lookup fails. This happens e.g. with an older Sharp Aquos TV (from 2008) connected to an AMD Radeon HD 7450 graphics card with Linux kernel 5.18.1. Adding some debug statements to control/eld.c shows it fails on the check for `l == 0`, with `l` being `0`, `cinfo.count` being `24`.
