Call to sdw_update_slave_status() needs to be added to sdw_clear_slave_ status() to ensure Slaves are informed of the new status via update_ status() callback. [PATCH] soundwire: bus: filter out more -EDATA errors on clock stop

This will lead to an isolated message [ 6115.294412] soundwire sdw-master-1: SDW_SCP_STAT bread failed:-61 The callers already filter this error code, so there's no point in keeping it at the lower level. Since this is a recoverable error, make this dev_err() conditional and only log cases with Command Failed. The commit 48f17f96a817 ("soundwire: stream: fix memory leak in stream config error path") fixes the memory leak by implicitly freeing the s_rt object. However, this fixing style is not very good. [PATCH v4 0/5] bus: Make remove callback return void

Hello, this is v4 of the final patch set for my effort to make struct bus_type::remove return void. The first four patches contain cleanups that make some of these callbacks (more obviously) always return 0. They are acked by the respective maintainers. Bjorn Helgaas explicitly asked to include the pci patch (#1) into this series, so Greg taking this is fine. I assume the s390 people are fine with Greg taking patches #2 to #4, too, they didn't explicitly said so though. The last patch actually changes the prototype and so touches quite some drivers and has the potential to conflict with future developments, so I consider it beneficial to put these patches into next soon. I expect that it will be Greg who takes the complete series, he already confirmed via irc (for v2) to look into this series. The only change compared to v3 is in the fourth patch where I modified a few more drivers to fix build failures. Some of them were found by build bots (thanks!), some of them I found myself using a regular expression search. Any way of making this Intel SoC sound cluster work?

Greetings, I recently found myself with a rather atypical laptop from a niche Chinese manufacturer (relying on an old J3455 SoC); the `Intel Smart Sound Technology` output does work under Windows with the appropriate drivers, but under GNU/Linux (no matter which distro or release I test: Debian, Ubuntu, ClearLinux,…) no audio output is reportedly available other than HDMI. Lspci does list an “Audio Cluster” [10ec:10fc] and supposedly handles it with snd_hda_intel, but that’s as far as I got. This looks to me like a missing firmware issue, but I’ve spent hours trawling the Internets to no avail. I also tried fiddling with the modules, by either blacklisting snd_hda_intel or loading snd_soc_skl and virtually every other combination I could think of. If there is an arcane option to be passed to snd_hda_intel, I have yet to find which one. Attached are the alsa-info output, the verbose lspci output and (just in case) the output of `wmic path win32_pnpentity` on Windows. If some of you fine alsa-devel experts could give me any pointers, I’d greatly appreciate it! Cheers, -- Valentin (from France).

[PATCH 02/54] ASoC: dt-bindings: Convert Bluetooth SCO Link binding to a schema

Bluetooth SCO Link are supported by Linux with a matching device tree binding. Now that we have the DT validation in place, let's convert the device tree bindings for that driver over to a YAML schema. The value expected for #sound-dai-cells wasn't documented though, and the users were inconsistent. The example didn't list it, and across the 4 users we have in tree: - 1 had a cells value of 1, but using only 0 as argument - 1 had a cells value of 0, - 2 didn't have this property at all, behaving as if it was 0, It seems like the consensus seems to be that it should be 0, so let's enforce it.
