Question about conversion kcontrol to component

Hi ALSA ML I have noticed that we have similar functions snd_soc_kcontrol_component() snd_soc_dapm_kcontrol_component() Both converts snd_kcontrol to snd_soc_component. I wonder can we merge these ? or which we can use is case-by-case ? Thank you for your help !! Best regards --- Kuninori Morimoto

Pioneer DJ DJM mixers channel names

When working on DJM-V10, I noticed that other Pioneer mixers (like my older DJM-250MK2) have control names that do not comply with conventions described at <https://docs.kernel.org/sound/designs/control-names.html> and thus do not show in alsamixer under proper category (playback/capture) and they are all under playback. I am preparing a patch that will add "Playback Switch" or "Capture Switch" suffix to control names. But I am not sure about the prefix. Should it be "aux" or "PCM"? It is often the main function, so I tend rather to PCM than auxiliary... Could you give some advice regarding the mixer control names? Thanks, Franta

From: František Kučera <franta-linux(a)frantovo.cz> Pioneer DJ DJM-V10 is a high end mixer that acts like a USB sound card. The MIDI controller part is standard but the PCM part is "vendor specific". Input and output is enabled by this patch: - 12 channels (6 stereo) in each direction - 44 100 / 48 000 / 96 000 Hz - S24_3LE Capture channels can be configured through alsamixer. Playback channels are fixed and controlled by hardware knobs on the mixer. Hi, this is a patch set for USB-audio to fix and improve the PCM stream handling. The primary target is the enhancement of the low-latency playback that was introduced recently for dealing with the small period size (that is used typically by JACK).
