[PATCH 00/33] spi: get rid of some legacy macros

Hello, In commit 8caab75fd2c2 ("spi: Generalize SPI "master" to "controller"") some functions were renamed. Further some compat defines were introduced to map the old names to the new ones. In this series all drivers still using the old names are changed to use the new ones and then in patch #32 the compat defines are dropped. Variables and struct members of type pointer to struct spi_controller that were named "master" (matching the old name of spi_controller) were renamed to "ctlr", which slightly increased the count of touched lines, but is nice for consistency. Patch #18 and #19 touch the same driver, otherwise the patches #1 - #31 are pairwise independent and could be applied by their respective maintainers. The alternative is to let all patches go via the spi tree. Mark, what's your preference here? Patch #33 updates the documentation. (This one is a bit fuzzy, because it also does some s/master/host/ which doesn't match the remainder of the series). Also patch #18 is an improvement I noticed while touching this driver that doesn't match the series' topic. I still kept it included here. If you should not like it, it can just be dropped. [PATCHv3 RESEND 00/10] ASoC: fsl-asoc-card: compatibility integration of a generic codec use case for use with S/PDIF controller

Hello, This is the v3 of the series of patch aiming to make the machine driver "fsl-asoc-card" compatible with use cases where there is no real codec driver. It proposes to use the "spdif_receiver" and "spdif_transmitter" drivers instead of the dummy codec. This is a first step in using the S/PDIF controller with the ASRC. The five first patches add compatibility with the pair of codecs "spdif_receiver" and "spdif_transmitter" with a new compatible, "fsl,imx-audio-generic". Codec parameters are set with default values. Consequently, the driver is modified to work with multi-codec use cases. It can get 2 codecs phandles from the device tree, and the "fsl_asoc_card_priv" struct now has 2 "codec_priv" to store properties of both codecs. It is fixed to 2 codecs as only "fsl,imx-audio-generic" uses multiple codecs at the moment. However, the driver now uses for_each_codecs macros when possible to ease future implementations of multi-codec configurations. The remaining patches add configuration options for the device tree. They configure the CPU DAI when using "fsl,imx-audio-generic". These options are usually hard-coded in "fsl-asoc-card.c" for each audio codec. Because the generic codec could be used with other CPU DAIs than the S/PDIF controller, setting these parameters could be required. This series of patch was successfully built for arm64 and x86 on top of the latest for-next branch of the ASoC git tree on the 14th of December. These modifications have also been tested on an i.MX8MN evaluation board, with a linux kernel RT v6.1.26-rt8. The tas2783 is a smart audio amplifier with integrated MIPI SoundWire interface (Version 1.2.1 compliant), I2C, and I2S/TDM interfaces designed for portable applications. An on-chip DSP supports Texas Instruments SmartAmp speaker protection algorithm. The integrated speaker voltage and current sense provides for real-time monitoring of loadspeakers. The ASoC component provides the majority of the functionality of the device, all the audio functions. UCM is not supported for this HDA model (HDA NVidia at 0xfc080000 irq 130) - how to disable HDA Nvidia?

alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf issue #384 was opened from motomyslen: I upgraded my system and all microphones stopped working. Before that I had loaded custom UCM configs to make my microphone working. Upgrades which can be related to the issue: - `alsa-ucm-conf:all 1.2.6.3-1ubuntu1.4 1.2.6.3-1ubuntu1.9` - `nvidia-driver-510:amd64 510.108.03-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 525.147.05-0ubuntu0.22.04.1` After OS upgrade I loaded again all latests UCM configs from the repo. I also tried older which I had but the error is the same. First issue: ``` alsaucm reload; ALSA lib parser.c:2021:(parse_master_file) Incompatible syntax 6 in HDA-Intel.conf ALSA lib main.c:1412:(snd_use_case_mgr_open) error: failed to import hw:0 use case configuration -22 alsaucm: error failed to open sound card hw:0: Invalid argument ``` I fixed it by changing syntax from 6 to 4 in HDA-Intel.conf. It worked for me before OS upgrade. Next issue: ``` $ alsaucm reload; ALSA lib parser.c:243:(error_node) UCM is not supported for this HDA model (HDA NVidia at 0xfc080000 irq 130) ALSA lib main.c:1412:(snd_use_case_mgr_open) error: failed to import hw:0 use case configuration -6 alsaucm: error failed to open sound card hw:0: No such device or address ``` I tried to disable HDA Nvidia module from loading by adding `snd_hda_codec_hdmi` to `/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf` but it didn't work. How to solve this issue? I don't need audio through HDMI. It would be nice to have it working without any hacks but disabling it is enough for me. Can I somehow disable HDA Nvidia in UCM? I can't downgrade Nvidia driver because I need that. commit d685aea5e0a8 ("ASoC: audio-graph-card2: fix off by one in graph_parse_node_multi_nm()") uses ">=" instead of ">" for index check, but it was wrong. The nm_idx will be increment at end of loop, thus, ">" is correct. while (1) { ... => if (*nm_idx > nm_max) break; ... (*nm_idx)++; } Without this patch, "Multi-Codec-1" sample on ${LINUX}/sound/soc/generic/audio-graph-card2-custom-sample.dtsi will be error.
