[PATCH] ASoC: codecs: wcd934x: do not switch off SIDO Buck when codec is in use

SIDO(Single-Inductor Dual-Ouput) Buck powers up both analog and digital circuits along with internal memory, powering off this is the last thing that codec should do when going to very low power. Current code was powering off this Buck if there are no users of sysclk, which is not correct. Powering off this buck will result in no register access. This code path was never tested until recently after adding pm support in SoundWire controller. Fix this by removing the buck poweroff when the codec is active and also the code that is not used. [PATCH] ASoC: rt711/5682: check if bus is active before deferred jack detection

This patch takes a defensive programming and paranoid approach in case the parent device (SoundWire) is pm_runtime resumed but the rt711 device is not. In that case, during the attachment and initialization, a jack detection workqueue can be scheduled. Since the pm_runtime suspend routines will not be invoked, the sequence to cancel all deferred work is not executed, and the jack detection could happen after the bus stops operating, leading to a timeout. This patch applies the same solution to rt5682, based on the similarities between codec drivers. The race condition with rt5682 was not detected experimentally though. This series has a bunch of cleanups for the FSL MICFIL driver. There is not much chance for regressions in this series as the driver currently can't work at all. The MICFIL needs multififo support in the i.MX SDMA engine which is added with this series, see 11/20. The multififo support is selected in the dma phandle arguments in the device tree, the transfer type must be '25' aka IMX_DMATYPE_MULTI_SAI. This is set already to 25 in the upstream i.MX8M[NM] dtsi files, but the SDMA driver silently ignores unsupported values instead of throwing an error. This is fixed in this series and multififo support is added. The dmaengine patches have acks from Vinod, so the series is free to go through the ASoC tree. Hi, Current implementation of Linux FireWire subsystem doesn't allow unit driver to operate content of packet in IR context according to time stamp. Additionally it doesn't allow unit driver to read current value of CYCLE_TIME register in OHCI 1394 controller. It brings disadvantages to drivers in Linux sound subsystem in regards of handling time for sampled data such as PCM frames and MIDI messages. [PATCH] ALSA: usb-audio: Cap upper limits of buffer/period bytes for implicit fb

In the implicit feedback mode, some parameters are tied between both playback and capture streams. One of the tied parameters is the period size, and this can be a problem if the device has different number of channels to both streams. Assume that an application opens a playback stream that has an implicit feedback from a capture stream, and it allocates up to the max period and buffer size as much as possible. When the capture device supports only more channels than the playback, the minimum period and buffer sizes become larger than the sizes the playback stream took. That is, the minimum size will be over the max size the driver limits, and PCM core sees as if no available configuration is found, returning -EINVAL mercilessly. For avoiding this problem, we have to look through the counter part of audioformat list for each sync ep, and checks the channels. If more channels are found there, we reduce the max period and buffer sizes accordingly. You may wonder that the patch adds only the evaluation of channels between streams, and what about other parameters? Both the format and the rate are tied in the implicit fb mode, hence they are always identical.
