Is it a regression? 5.15.5: No sound with speaker-test. 5.12.13: it works.

The following looks to me a regression in the linux sound driver.
alsa-info.sh output is included at the bottom of this message. There are 2
outputs. An output with a 5.12.13 kernel. The other output is with a
5.15.5. They were obtained with the same PC. With 5.12.13, the
speaker-test program works as expected. There is no sound when the
speaker-test program is ran with 5.15.5.
5.15.5 has
options snd-hda-intel id=PCH index=0
options snd-hda-intel id=HDMI index=1
, which 5.12.13 does not have.
I have tried various combinations of the knobs of alsamixer.
The dmesg section for the 5.15.5 kernal is 2 lines shorter then for the
former kernel. In addition, the total number of lines in the output of the
5.15.5 kernel is greater, compared to the 5.12.13 output. I don't know if it is of any significance.

The capture and playback paths both have a configurable gain after their
respective mixer, which can be set from -31 dB to 0 dB in 32 steps.

Can't link I2C and SPI to the same binary, better
to move CS35L41 to 3 modules approach.
And instead of exposing cs35l41_reg, volatile_reg,
readable_reg and precious_reg arrays, move
cs35l41_regmap_i2c/spi to new module and expose it.

Implement an updated programming sequence to handle DMA stop for Intel
HD-Audio DMA.
The new flow is only used if the firmware is sufficiently new to support
the feature. SOF1.9.2 is the first release with the updated flow. The kernel
changes are backwards compatible with old firmware releases. Likewise new
firmware releases will work with old kernel.

Move the declaration of temporary arrays to somewhere that won't go out
of scope before the devm_clk_hw_register() call, lest we be at the whim
of the compiler for whether those stack variables get overwritten.

Changes add two crucial functions: endpoint presence-check and
retrieval of endpoint's BLOB (hardware configuration) to NHLT API.
Outside of that, "is DMIC in NHLT?" check is being re-visited. No need
to check for channel count or anything DMIC-configuration related, just
straight up verify link_type presence.

- patch renaming nhlt_acpi_table struct to acpi_nhlt_table has been
dropped due to naming conflicts with other parts of the kernel
