The HDMI codec may leave codec->relaxed_resume flag set even after unbinding. Clear it unconditionally. It's very unlikely that this actually matters in the real use case, so just a fix for consistency. The old Nvidia chips have multiple HD-audio codecs on the same HD-audio controller, and this doesn't work as expected with the current audio component binding that is implemented under the one-codec-per- controller assumption; at the probe time, the driver leads to several kernel WARNING messages. For the proper support, we may change the pin2port and port2pin to traverse the codec list per the given pin number, but this needs more development and testing. As a quick workaround, instead, this patch drops the binding in the audio side for these legacy chips since the audio component support in nouveau graphics driver is still not merged (hence it's basically unused). snd_usb_mixer_controls_badd() that parses UAC3 BADD profiles misses a NULL check for the given interfaces. When a malformed USB descriptor is passed, this may lead to an Oops, as spotted by syzkaller. Skip the iteration if the interface doesn't exist for avoiding the crash. When system wide suspend happens, ACP will be powered off and when system resumes,for audio usecase to continue,all the runtime configuration data needs to be programmed again. Added resume pm call back to ACP pm ops and also added runtime PM operations for ACP3x PCM platform device. Device will enter into D3 state when there is no activity on audio I2S lines. If adding quirk=0x21 in the module parameter, the headphone jack can work well. Hi, this is a patch series for a few ALSA PCM API changes. Basically the patch set introduces three changes: * Add the "managed buffer allocation" mode; this allows many drivers to drop hw_params and hw_free callbacks that simply call snd_pcm_lib_malloc_pages() and *_free_pages(). * Make PCM ioctl ops optional; almost all driver can drop the lines to define pcm_ops.ioctl. * The new sync_stop PCM ops and card->sync_irq; it's used to synchronize the pending task after stopping the stream, for fixing the use-after-free or such problem. I planned originally merging these changes to 5.6. But since the API changes would influence on many drivers outside sound git tree, it might be easier to merge only these core changes at first during 5.5 merge window while keeping the rest (the actual driver implementations) intact -- that's why I post now for reviews. The changes are additional, and they won't break things by themselves.
