Now the debugfs files dais/codecs/platforms have a size limit PAGE_SIZE and the user can not see the whole contents of dai_list/platform_list/codec_list when they are larger than this limit. This patch uses seq_file instead to make sure dais/platforms/codecs show the full contents of dai_list/platform_list/codec_list. If bcm2835 is configured as bitclock master calling hw_params() after prepare() fails with EBUSY. This also makes it impossible to use bcm2835 in full duplex mode. The error is caused by the split clock setup: clk_set_rate is called in hw_params, clk_prepare_enable in prepare. As hw_params doesn't check if the clock was already enabled clk_set_rate fails with EBUSY. Fix this by moving clock startup from prepare to hw_params and let hw_params properly deal with an already set up or enabled clock. The patch IIO: ADC: stm32-dfsdm: remove unused variable again has been applied to the asoc tree at https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted. The E1 has two headphone jacks, one of which can be set as a microphone input. In the default mode, it uses the built-in microphone as an input. By sending a special command, the second headphone jack is instead used as an input. This might work with the E3 as well, but I don't have one of those to test it. [alsa-devel] Bad PCM stream after a suspend/resume cycle

Hi. I have a quite simple problem really (simple test-case at least). Following describes the test case: $ aplay test.wav # While the .wav is playing suspend the system $ systemctl suspend # When system is resumed I get the following error on my aplay command aplay: pcm_write:2030: write error: File descriptor in bad state I was expecting for the playback to resume. I did some debugging using "aplay" and what I can see that happens before the EBADFD error is that the "writei_func()" returns a positive value once which results in a call to "snd_pcm_wait()" and on the next "writei_func()" call -EBADFD is returned. I would expect a -ESTRPIPE error which should then result in that the PCM stream to be "resumed" (according to documentation at least). I have tried "forcing" a call to "suspend()" on the first write error in aplay after system is resumed and it actually works, kinda. The playback is resumed even-though the "snd_pcm_resume()" call returns an error. I have not worked much with the sound subsystem before and I am having a hard time following all the call paths to see who/what is to blame for this behavior. Maybe it expected to work like this? And I do not know if this is only on my SoC or if this is a generic sound problem.
