It is still using old driver style, this patch also
fixup it.

[alsa-devel] [PATCH] ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add IPC to configure the copier secondary pins
by Pradeep Tewani 01 Sep '17
by Pradeep Tewani 01 Sep '17
01 Sep '17
Copier can support upto 4 output pins. However, only pin 0 is configured
as a part of copier initialization. Configuring rest of pins require the
separate IPC to be sent to fw.

This patch set updates the AMD GPU and Audio CoProcessor (ACP)
audio drivers and the designware i2s driver for Stoney (ST).
ST is an APU similar to Carrizo (CZ) which already has ACP audio
support. The i2s controller and ACP audio DMA engine are part of
the GPU and both need updating so I would like to upstream the
whole patch set via one tree if possible.
The current code is based on drm-next, but I'm happy to rebase on
whatever tree this ends up going through if there are any problems
applying. These patches touch both audio and drm.
The entire patch set can be viewed here:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/~agd5f/linux/log/?h=stoney_acp2
Thanks!
Alex
v2:
- Patch 1 is already applied to the audio tree, just including it for
completeness since it's required for this patch set and it's not yet
in the drm tree.
- New patch to share asic types between gpu and audio drivers
- ACPI ID changed for rt5650 machine driver
- Integrate feedback on other patches
v3:
- resend remaining patches that have not been applied yet

[alsa-devel] [PATCH] asoc: make clock direction configurable in asoc-simple
by Vitaly Wool 01 Sep '17
by Vitaly Wool 01 Sep '17
01 Sep '17
Some CPU drivers (e. g. davinci-mcasp) may require the system clock to
be configured as OUT, while there's no good way currently to set
SND_SOC_CLK_OUT in simple-soc driver if the clock is fixed-rate.
This patch makes asoc_simple_card_init_dai() initialize clock to
SND_SOCK_CLK_OUT if explicitly stated in the relevant dts file. This
change is transparent and doesn't change the default behavior.

[alsa-devel] Applied "ASoC: add missing compile rule for sirf-audio-codec" to the asoc tree
by Mark Brown 01 Sep '17
by Mark Brown 01 Sep '17
01 Sep '17
The patch
ASoC: add missing compile rule for sirf-audio-codec
has been applied to the asoc tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git
All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next
tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during
the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if
problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted.
You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing
and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and
send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed.
If any updates are required or you are submitting further changes they
should be sent as incremental updates against current git, existing
patches will not be replaced.
Please add any relevant lists and maintainers to the CCs when replying
to this mail.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi alsa-devel ML:
Could you merge this 000-alc700-intel.patch file to your ALSA driver?
I changed "Intel debug" to "Intel Reference board".
Best regards
Pshou

Thanks, it looks good now.
One thing to be changed is the name "Intel debug".
Maybe "Intel Reference board" or such would fit better.
In anyway, could you submit the patch to alsa-devel ML?
Once after it's submitted, I'll merge it.
thanks,
Takashi
