Both SND_SOC_SMARTQ and SND_SOC_SAMSUNG_TM2_WM5110 use gpio/consumer.h This patch adds GPIOLIB || COMPILE_TEST to Kconfig entries to fix runtime dependency. These patches specifically enable the audio MCLK required by Baytrail CR devices. It is the remaining part of a bigger set of patches (already merged in Mark's tree) that enable sound for Baytrail CR devices (especially Asus T100TAF) [1]. They include the clock driver and a move of the non-architectural pmc_atom driver code into drivers/platform/x86. Media Device Allocator API to allows multiple drivers share a media device. Using this API, drivers can allocate a media device with the shared struct device as the key. Once the media device is allocated by a driver, other drivers can get a reference to it. The media device is released when all the references are released. Patches 0001 and 0002 are rebased to 4.9-rc7. Patch 0003 for snd-usb-audio is a rebase of the patch that was tested with the original Media Device Allocator patch series. snd-usb-audio patch includes the fixes found during 4.7-rc1 time in the original snd-usb-audio patch. The FNLock state is not handled by the X1 tablet cover itself. There is the need to set the FNLock LED which actually enables the FNLock state of the cover. Add support for controlling MUTE, MICMUTE and FNLOCK LEDs. In ordner to enable MUTE and MICMUTE LED control over thinkpad_helper the external interface hid_lenovo_led_set is introduced. This enables setting Lenovo LEDs from external. This is needed because the X1 Tablet Cover is the first thinkpad_helper controlable device which is connected via USB. The Lenovo X1 Tablet Cover is connected via USB. It constists of 1 usb device with 3 usb interfaces. Interface 0 represents keyboard, interface 1 the function / special keys and LED control, interface 2 is the Synaptics touchpad and pointing stick. Hi everyone, This is v2 of my Allwinner A23 and H3 audio codec support series. Changes since v1: - Use DEFINE_RES_MEM for the analog path controls block resources. - Added Rob's ack. This series adds support for the audio codec found in Allwinner A23 and H3 SoCs. The design and data paths are similar to the audio codec found in earlier SoCs such as the A31. The analog audio paths are symmetrical with left/right channels and down-mix selectors for mono differential output. What deviates from previous SoCs is that the analog path controls have been moved to a separate control bus, accessed through a message box like register interface in the PRCM block. This necessitates writing a separate component driver for it, which is then tied into the sound card as an ASoC auxiliary device. Patch 1 adds the analog path controls block to the sun6i-prcm driver as a sub-device, for the A23. The H3 currently does not use the PRCM driver. Patch 2 adds PCM and card support for the A23 codec to the sun4i-codec driver. Patch 3 adds a device node for the analog path controls block to the A23 dtsi. Patch 4 adds a device node for the audio codec, and the phandle for the analog path controls block to the A23 dtsi. Patch 5 enables the audio codec for the A23 Q8 tablets. On these tablets the headphone output is driven in DC coupled, or "direct drive", mode. Patch 6 adds PCM and card support for the H3 codec to the sun4i-codec driver. Patch 7 adds device nodes for the audio codec and analog path controls block to the H3 dtsi. Patch 8 enables the audio codec on the Orange Pi PC. The audio output jack on the board is tied to the line out pins on the SoC. Please take a look and let me know what you think. In addition, the sun4i-codec driver is getting pretty large. When configuring avail_min to multiple of slave period size it can happen that user waits one slave period longer than needed for available data. Root cause is implicit grabbing of slave samples in avail_update operation. On next entering poll, the slave will wait for the avail_min threshold reached again, as he is not aware that there are already pending samples in the above layer which are not yet provided to user. Solution is to dynamically adapt the avail_min on the slave. Hi, In the modified cht-bsw_rt5645 machine driver for Asus X205TA and T100HA, I disable the audio mclk with a call to clk_disable_unprepare() when I see a SND_SOC_DAPM_EVENT_OFF event in the platform_clock_control hook. For some reason I seem to get multiple SND_SOC_DAPM_EVENT_OFF events and the clock framework complains with dmesg warnings that the refcount is already zero (which has no functional side effect). WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 2002 at drivers/clk/clk.c:476 clk_unprepare+0x1a/0x21 WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 2095 at drivers/clk/clk.c:594 clk_core_disable_lock+0x12/0x1b I could fix this in three different ways: - remove multiple SND_SOC_DAPM_EVENT_OFF events (not sure what the root cause is, maybe issues with jack detection?) - call a clk_is_enabled() or clk_refcount() function before calling clk_disable_unprepare() (but they don't seem to exist in include/linux/clk.h) - count the references myself (which does exactly the same as what the clk framework already does so it's not terribly elegant) Any suggestions on what the least-bad solution might be? Hi Rob, Mark These are v5 of OF graph base simple-card patch-set. I removed new "type" property on v4 patch-set, but I noticed that it is necessary for ALSA SoC binding purpose. Thus, this v5 has it again. For example HDMI case, its DT will has video and sound ports. This DT will be used from HDMI Video driver and HDMI sound driver. HDMI video side can handle all somehow, because it is fully under its control. HDMI sound side will just references it. But it can't know total Video/Sound ports number which is necessary for ALSA SoC side. For example, if HDMI video had 4 ports, sound had 2 ports, this case, HDMI sound ports will be port@4, port@5. Here, ALSA SoC side needs to know total 2 sound port, and, it should be handled as 1st / 2nd port. The channel selection currently does not work properly when a channel map control is provided but no manual channel map was explicitly requested with "-m". For example, the CEA/HDMI 6ch (surround 5.1) map is: FL, FR, LFE, FC, RL, RR. Tested command: speaker-test -D hdmi -c 6 -t wav Speaker-test tries to play channels in this following order: 0 - Front Left 3 - Front Center 1 - Front Right 5 - Rear Right 4 - Rear Left 2 - LFE But wav file played on associated speakers are not aligned. Here are the real files played: 0- /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Left.wav => OK 3- /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Rear_Right.wav => OK 1- /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav => OK 5- /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Rear_Center.wav => KO 4- found file /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav => KO 2- /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Rear_Left.wav => KO Issue is that associated wav files ordering is reworked only if channel_map_set variable is set. They are required to release the source under GPL2, but haven't done so, so if all else fails, it will be a matter of tracking down someone in that company and explaining the issues to them. Since I'm in Hong Kong, I might just find where the things are manufactured, and just show up at their office. But it appears that there are some "magic bits" that are missing. One question that I have is what is the proper DAI to use (i.e. PCM or I2S) for cherry trail. The second question is that looking at the windows driver for nau88l24, there appears to be a test mode that runs the driver against a Realtek rt5645. Should I assume that this means that the initialization is similar? Also I'm quite interested in getting this to work. The W9S Pipo is a perfect netbook that has a big screen that is half the weight of my old laptop. The big thing is that someone realized that instead of putting in a SATA hard disk, that they can use an SD card as main storage, and that cuts down on the weight.

Media Device Allocator API to allows multiple drivers share a media device. Using this API, drivers can allocate a media device with the shared struct device as the key. Once the media device is allocated by a driver, other drivers can get a reference to it. The media device is released when all the references are released. The patch ASoC: Intel: atom: save FW version has been applied to the asoc tree at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted. You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed. Using regmap_update_bits(..., mask, 1) with 'mask' following (1 << k) and k greater than 0 is wrong. Indeed, _regmap_update_bits will perform (mask & 1), which results in 0 if LSB of mask is 0. Thus the call regmap_update_bits(..., mask, 1) is in reality equivalent to regmap_update_bits(..., mask, 0). In such a case, the correct use is regmap_update_bits(..., mask, mask). This driver is performing such a mistake with the CS42L56_AIN*_REF_MASK masks, which equal 0x10, 0x20, 0x40 and 0x80. Fix the driver to make it consistent with the API. Please note that this change is untested, as I do not have this piece of hardware. Testers are welcome! Previously topology kernel driver assumes a widget can have only one emumerated mixer control. We need to remove this restriction for Broxton. Its firmware modules (widgets) may need multiple enum controls based on the channel and MIC combination. No ABI change is needed. The ABI allows a widget to embed multiple controls. Applications can set sampling rate as they want, by ALSA PCM interface. I think it better to keep it what it is unless there's few special cases. For example, ALSA dice driver performs what you expected, due to hardware restriction. Just after booting up, your device has no routing configuration, therefore it generates no sound till configured with use space applications. Default settings of gain/volume are 0dB, perhaps. But this can also be configured from user space applications. What I can do is to produce a way to control devices for applications in user land, and actual way to use the device is left to application developers. ALSA bebob driver allows applications to use the device with both of 16 bit sample and 24bit sample with adjusted 8 bit, for playbacking. I guess that your trial is to playback 16 bit PCM sample and looks with highpass filter. From: Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx(a)renesas.com> SSIU was controlled by SSI before, but commit c7f69ab53("ASoC: rsnd: use mod base common method on SSIU") separated it into ssiu.c But, it didn't care about rsnd_get_dalign() for judging SSI_BUSIF_DALIGN register value which changes the stream data order. This function will be called from cmd/src/ssiu now, but current code still cares ssi, not ssiu.
