[alsa-devel] 7.1 surround channels missing on CS46xx

Hello, I got a Hercules Fortissimo 7.1 sound card (CS4624 + two CS4294) but snd-cs46xx driver supports only 6 channels (front, rear, center/lfe). The surround output (7&8) is not supported - as seen in dsp_spos_scb_lib.c: case DSP_PCM_S71_CHANNEL: /* TODO */ snd_BUG(); break; Tried to add a code for this, mostly copying the center/lfe code but I miss some data: - which slots (ACOSV_SLVx) should be used (maybe 10 and 12?) - what are the channel_disp and fifo_addr values for cs46xx_dsp_create_codec_out_scb() function - what values should S71_MIXER_SCB_ADDR and S71_CODEC_SCB_ADDR be (maybe 0x1b0 and 0x1c0?) -- Ondrej Zary

[alsa-devel] Debian alsa-tools patches

As previously discussed, I'm posting all Debian patches against alsa-tools that were pending upstreaming. Please review patch 8, as this one is new and the general state of configure scripts in alsa-tools is less than optimal. I've left out the patch to correct envy24control's configuration directory, as the additional check for the old dir is not implemented. If anyone wants to pick that up, please contact me or fetch the (trivial) patch from Debian sources. Thanks, Jordi

[alsa-devel] Error after wakeup from suspend?! (HDA Intel PCH)

Hi, I woke up my ArchLinux system and pulseaudio is not working. Also I got this message from the commandline: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/5576712 Pulseaudio is running like it would work fine. I can see the volume bars shaking in Pulse Audio Volume Manager. Except, I can't hear any sound. It's like the audio plug is not connected. Hopefully this helps you a bit.
