[PATCH] ALSA: HDA: Conexant auto: Handle multiple connections to ADC node

Conexant 20641 has several inputs to its ADC node, with one selector and individual amps for all inputs. This patch adds support in the Conexant auto parser to handle that case. It also means that the pin node's volume is being renamed to "Boost" to avoid name clash with the new volume controls on the ADC node. Greetings guys, I am dealing with the device driver for the chip that has his own hardware buffer and the DMA is not available. Therefore, driver doesn't support MMAP access and the data is copied using the copy file operation. My HW natively supports BE format. However, I would like to be able to play little endian pcm as well. The problem, occurs when I try to use plughw device in order to play LE pcm file " aplay: set_params:1022: Unable to install hw params: " My debugging session proved me that plughw device is trying to access device driver with MMAP_INTERLEAVED mode. Does it mean that this is the only way for plughw to access device driver, and that I am not able to use plugins unless do some heavy modifications of device drivers (implement mmap access). Howdy, all I have one of these: http://www.chordelectronics.co.uk/products_detail.asp?id=63 It's got one of these USB DACs inside ID 08bb:2704 Texas Instruments Japan The DAC has a single mixer control, Master, which allows you to adjust volume and mute/unmute. The fun thing is that the volume adjustment has no effect whatsoever. On machines running pulse, this means that output will be at 0dB pretty much all the time. (Of course, this is true of non-pulse machines also). The attached patch disables the Master control, which causes pulse to control levels entirely in software, as it should for this device. The main downside to this patch is that, while the volume part of the Master control is non-functional, the mute/unmute aspect does work as expected. I couldn't figure out how to change the Master control to just a mute/unmute control, but if someone has suggestions on what to do, that'd be appreciated. Judging by the comments in the code (and contrary to what I wrote in the map comment), I presume the mute/unmute control is the only reason why 08bb:2702 isn't doing this same thing. Cheers, --xsdg

Dear All, I can not make my sound card working correctly. When I use hda-intel-generic I get sound from external and internal speaker, but only at the same time. External micro works well, internal micro does not. Could not test HDMI yet, but the mixer lacks all controls so far. When I compile in conexant-codec, then I get more controls, but can not make external output working. External micro works, internal micro does not. I have 4 micros as choice, only one is functional. The module for ati-hdmi is never loaded. When I use Ubuntu 10.10 instead with kernel-2.3.35 and alsa-drivers-1.0.23 I get internal and external output correctly. Still internal microphone does not work. The module for ati-hdmi is loaded, conexant-codec is not loaded but hda-intel-generic only. So far this combination works best related to sound, but i can not go back, because the graphic is not supported yet. Graphic support starts with 2.6.38-rc4. I tried already all possible models for the module loading, nothing helped. Attached please find a lot of technical output. Please tell me, in case you need more information. Please may I ask you for any help and support to setup the device correctly. It is such a nice laptop and it's a pity I can not benefit from sound. Thank you very much in advance!
