Hi,
In my driver, i see that first my copy function is called some 4 times. Then
my timer starts (when trigger->start is reached). In my timer function,
snd_pcm_period_elapsed is called after the period is considered to be
processed by hardware. Everytime the period_elapsed function is called,
inturn my pointer function is called but i get the following error. can
anyone help as to what i am missing to do?
aplay: pcm_write:1266: write error: Input/output error
Can anyone hint me what i am doing wrong?

Hi all,
We are intending to develop a new ALSA driver for an audio unit on
Marvell Orion SoC, should a new ALSA drivers written for ARM based
SoCs be developed under sound/arm or under sound/soc/newsoc ? (is
sound/arm considered as obsolete? )
Thanks in advance

From: Geoffrey Wossum <geoffrey(a)pager.net>
Attached is a revised version of my patch to add AT32 to ASoC. This cleans
most of the style issues associated with the previous patch. Also fixes an
issue with the playpaq_wm8510.c code depending on a non-released patch to th
AT32 portmux support.
Patch is against 2.6.24.3.atmel.3 kernel, the latest AVR32 kernel Atmel has
released, with the linux-2.6-asoc patches from when v2.6.24 was tagged also
applied.
[Fixed up minor checkpatch issues and updated for current kernels -- broonie]

Hm, I obviously didn't review it in the last cycle.

Heh, the same issue as wm8510.

Isn't it
BUG_ON(reg < 1 || reg > ARRAY_SIZE(wm8990_reg));
??
But at the first place this is bad, because codec_reg_show() in
soc-core.c always loops from 0 to codec->reg_cache_size-1.
At least, reg == 0 should be simply ignored.

Why interruptible? Maybe msleep() is better for such a purpose?

A wrong value assignment in this file, too. But, ARRAY_SIZE() is also
wrong since the max reg value is ARRAY_SIZE(). ARRAY_SIZE()+1 is the
right value, but then it's really unclear what it means...

Hi!
I'm writing a driver for the MARIAN MARC 8 Midi soundcard. Today I
tested some MIDI functionality and get some errors from hydrogen
("unhandled midi message type"). I did some research and got to the
point, that the MIDI alive message (0xfe) should not arrive at the
application. So my question is: Do I have to process the midi messages
by myself before I give it to the alsa "snd_rawmidi_receive" function?
Or is there already some code, which will do it?
If someone is interested here is the project page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/marc8-driver/
Regards,
Thorsten
