This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ASoC: SOF: Intel: Fix NULL ptr dereference when ENOMEM to the 5.16-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=sum… The filename of the patch is: asoc-sof-intel-fix-null-ptr-dereference-when-enomem.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.16 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable(a)vger.kernel.org> know about it. >From b7fb0ae09009d076964afe4c1a2bde1ee2bd88a9 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Ammar Faizi <ammarfaizi2(a)gnuweeb.org> Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2022 01:58:36 +0700 Subject: ASoC: SOF: Intel: Fix NULL ptr dereference when ENOMEM From: Ammar Faizi <ammarfaizi2(a)gnuweeb.org> commit b7fb0ae09009d076964afe4c1a2bde1ee2bd88a9 upstream. Do not call snd_dma_free_pages() when snd_dma_alloc_pages() returns -ENOMEM because it leads to a NULL pointer dereference bug. [1/1] ASoC: SOF: Intel: Fix build error without SND_SOC_SOF_PCI_DEV commit: 664d66dc0a64b32e60a5ad59a9aebb08676a612b All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted. You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed. If any updates are required or you are submitting further changes they should be sent as incremental updates against current git, existing patches will not be replaced. Please add any relevant lists and maintainers to the CCs when replying to this mail. Thanks, Mark

[1/1] ASoC: SOF: topology: Use kmemdup() to replace kzalloc + memcpy commit: b26f965f7c83464f60d5af411ef9a03079e41800 All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted.
