[alsa-devel] SIIG-USB SoundWave 7.1 Pro
Hi,
I have the above referenced sound card. It is running on the latest version of CCRMA x86. Jack shows only stereo. How do I configure so that I can run 5 channels. I haven't tried yet to look for directions on line. If someone could provide me with a URL to the most up-to-date instructions I would be willing to give it a try. Thanks.

Thanks for your response. My speakers are on order and should be in towards end of week.
Before I try speaker-test however, I want to understand what is going on. When I start jack with qjackctl, the connect tab shows payback_1 and playback_2. I assume this is stereo. My headphones when connected to the sound card seem to be playing stereo. When I select the setup tab and change the Output Channels to 4 (or 8), qjackctl won't start. How do I set up jack so that I can see playback_1, playback_2, playback_3 and playback_4? What am I missing? Is the module for the sound card deficient or do I need to set some config files? Any further guidance would be much appreciated.

Most cards support only 2,4,6,8 channels. Please try speaker-test.

Thanks for your response. Before responding, I wanted to wait until my 4 speakers arrived. I've got them and connected them to the audio receiver as Front L R and Back L R. An spdif optical cable is connected from the sound card list above to the audio receiver. At your suggestion I ran the command "speaker-test -c 8". Only Front L R spoke.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
