Hi,

What Linux distro are you using? I think the problem is that
your alsalib is too old.

I think on Ubuntu 19.10 should work. Alternatively, you can recompile
alsalib from scratch.

Hi Daniel
I am trying to build the SOF project from scratch as per the build instructions given at 'https://thesofproject.github.io<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthesofproject.github.io%2F&data=02%7C01%7Cdaniel.baluta%40nxp.com%7C74f55e3ffc384af0cfe208d7bb91c21f%7C686ea1d3bc2b4c6fa92cd99c5c301635%7C0%7C0%7C637184107018524052&sdata=H3q7CM3lprFDqcADdqVO%2FQhB3lVpLTfZb7tT0jzpqWI%3D&reserved=0>'. I was trying to build the 'alsa-utils' when i got stuck at ./gitcompile command giving the following error:-
"configure: error: No linkable libatopology was found."
For reference i have attached the screenshot as well. Request you to provide some insight as to what must be done here to get over the issue.
Thanks

Hi Daniel

Thanks for responding.. I'll surely start with the checkpatch.pl<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fcheckpatch.pl%2F&data=02%7C01%7Cdaniel.baluta%40nxp.com%7C74f55e3ffc384af0cfe208d7bb91c21f%7C686ea1d3bc2b4c6fa92cd99c5c301635%7C0%7C0%7C637184107018524052&sdata=LqVJ2cwrq4xLizzlO3IUyku9wEo20%2BxqPA8uwx7Ho8Y%3D&reserved=0> command and start with the TODO list as well asap.

Thanks and regards
Akriti

Hi Akriti,

Good news that you have some patches in the kernel. For start you can fix some trivial checkpatch.pl<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fcheckpatch.pl%2F&data=02%7C01%7Cdaniel.baluta%40nxp.com%7C74f55e3ffc384af0cfe208d7bb91c21f%7C686ea1d3bc2b4c6fa92cd99c5c301635%7C0%7C0%7C637184107018534051&sdata=0MZt8frJfTLj2jO6qox9w3GvICbPPUMGRz90QBphVnM%3D&reserved=0> errors/warnings in SOF repo.

Will try to add some sort of TODO list on the GSoC page this week.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi Daniel,

I am Akriti Verma. I contribute to Linux Kernel.
I recently came across the SOF project and I would like to start working on some bugs. Can you give me some pointers on how to start?

P.S. I have already gone through the documentation provided on https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/index.html<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthesofproject.github.io%2Flatest%2Findex.html&data=02%7C01%7Cdaniel.baluta%40nxp.com%7C74f55e3ffc384af0cfe208d7bb91c21f%7C686ea1d3bc2b4c6fa92cd99c5c301635%7C0%7C0%7C637184107018534051&sdata=4zvR1P%2Ftlkj54DGUh6D7vI4U00VkqxkDDlfvZiXgoXY%3D&reserved=0>
