[alsa-devel] snd_mixer_selem_channel_id -- should i be using this? if not, what should i use?

Hello Everybody;

mixer.h indicates that snd_mixer_selem_channel_id is a legacy api.

so, what is the non legacy api for setting volumes on individual
channels, ie Master L&R, PCM L&R and Surround L&R ?
