The topology looks very similar to reef-byt-rt5651.m4, and when I use 
the same exact values I still get the issues.
wondering if I am the first to test those files here? It looks like a 
generic issue with those more complicated pipelines?

no issues with test/test-ssp2-volume-s16le-s16le-48k-codec.tplg (copied 
as reef-byt_7213.tplg)
