This topic seems quite similar to my thread about measuring average

understand the motivation :-)

Perhaps that inexpensive headset is not really async playback, but standard
adaptive, reporting incorrect USB header? Then capture (async = internal
clock) would differ from playback (adaptive = USB controller clock).
