[alsa-devel] [PATCH V6] ASoC: AMD: add AMD ASoC ACP-I2S driver
Alex Deucher
alexdeucher at gmail.com
Fri Aug 21 01:42:27 CEST 2015
From: Maruthi Srinivas Bayyavarapu <Maruthi.Bayyavarapu at amd.com>
ACP IP block consists of dedicated DMA and I2S blocks. The PCM driver
provides the DMA and CPU DAI components to ALSA core.

v2:
- squash in Kconfig fix
v3:
- squash in the following patches:
ASoC: AMD: add suspend/resume for ACP PCM driver
ASoC: AMD: add ACP PCM driver runtime PM
- Keep the Makefile sorted
- Fix the Kconfig whitespace
- drop RT286 changes to rework it using ACPI as a separate patch.
The gpio stuff we need to handle this with ACPI was not added to the
kernel until 4.2. This patch was originally developed much earlier.
- put headers in include
- remove static structure initialization
- fix component name
- remove casts from void
- fix handling of combinations of play_intr and capture_intr
- fix coding style with {}
- switch to dev_ prints
- remove substream checks handled by subsystem
- fix whitespace in comments
- pass return code directly on error from acp_dev->dma_start
- drop references to designware
- fix codeing style (STATUS_SUCCESS)
- drop left over debugging messages
- drop stuff that is already set in the dai_link
- convert from using the amd_gnb_bus to an mfd cell
v4:
- change MODULE_ALIAS to platform:acp-i2s-audio
v5:
- failed attempt at a patch revision changelog
v6:
- respin the patch with a proper patch change log
The module licensing follows the model used in the drm drivers.
AMD prefers to contribute code under an MIT/X11 license. IANAL,
but "GPL and additional rights" as the MODULE_LICENSE seems to be
compatible with that and is exactly what most of the drm drivers
do.
