Doesn't ALSA_CONFIG_PATH=/path/to/file.conf:/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf
work? $ALSA_CONFIG_PATH overrides the whole default paths, so it
doesn't include even sysdefault definition unless you specify multiple
paths.
