Thanks.  The patch looks good now, but could you give a proper
changelog of the patch itself?  That is, what this patch provides, and
how is the support status, etc.

The sentence you gave above is about the change you made from the
previous revision.  The missing piece is a description of the whole
picture.

Once when I get that, I'll commit the patch to the tree.
