Try rather with the snapshot tarball in
  ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/snapshot/alsa-driver-snapshot.tar.gz
The version you tried isn't the latest one.

Make a patch with diff -u option (and better with -p, too).
