[Sound-open-firmware] upstream SOF binary to firmware repo
Hi,
Should we upstream SOF binary to upstream firmware repo, so as to make firmware binary integration easier for Linux distributions? What is our insight here?
Thanks, Jocelyn

Binary firmwares can be upstreamed into the Linux firmware repository after SOF driver is upstream. This makes them easily available to the distros.

SOF driver is upstream AND we have a means to handle backwards compatibility with older firmware should the user enable a newer kernel.
