[alsa-devel] [PATCH][V2] ASoC: Intel: make const arrays static, reduces object code size
From: Colin Ian King colin.king@canonical.com
Don't populate the const arrays on the stack but instead make it static. Makes the object code smaller, for example:
Before: text data bss dec hex filename 14107 8832 224 23163 5a7b bytcht_es8316.o
After: text data bss dec hex filename 14015 8896 224 23135 5a5f bytcht_es8316.o
(gcc version 8.2.0 x86_64)
Signed-off-by: Colin Ian King colin.king@canonical.com ---
V2: also fix up bytcr_rt5640.c and bytcr_rt5651.c, thanks to Pierre-Louis Bossart for noticing these two.

The patch
ASoC: Intel: make const arrays static, reduces object code size
has been applied to the asoc tree at
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git
All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted.
You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed.
If any updates are required or you are submitting further changes they should be sent as incremental updates against current git, existing patches will not be replaced.
Please add any relevant lists and maintainers to the CCs when replying to this mail.
Thanks, Mark
