[alsa-devel] HDA-Intel: despite `power_save=1` device hwC0D0 uses 100 % according to Powertop 2.x
Dear ALSA folks,
running Debian Wheezy with Linux 3.2.23 on a T60 with
0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0xee240000 irq 46 29 [ThinkPadEC ]: ThinkPad EC - ThinkPad Console Audio Control ThinkPad Console Audio Control at EC reg 0x30, fw 79HT50WW-1.07
(attached `alsa-info.sh` output from before running the following command) despite enabling power saving
$ echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save 1
and touching the device or playing some music, I am able to hear a pop/click before playing another piece of music, so some power saving mode seems to be enabled, Powertop 2.1 built from Git still shows the device using 100 %.
Others seem to have similar problem with other devices though [1].
Thanks,
Paul
