[alsa-devel] [PATCH 1/2] ASoC: Revert "Drop SND_DMAENGINE_PCM_FLAG_CUSTOM_CHANNEL_NAME flag"
This reverts commit c6644119a3f80ea644bde10009d5e1013b5aff29 and restores the ability to specify DMA channel names per DAI dma_data. Unfortunately the functionality removed in the patch being reverted cannot be entirely replaced by DMA channel names specified in struct snd_dmaengine_pcm_config as that doesn't cover devices with more than 2 DMA channels.

This reverts commit cdaf9af1eaeb539e32bfd6da6310b41ad6c3ba23 which breaks I2S support on non-DT platforms since default "tx", "rx" DMA channel names for playback and capture streams or custom channel names in struct snd_dmaengine_pcm_config are supported in the ASoC dmaengine module only for DT case.

The patch
ASoC: Revert "Drop SND_DMAENGINE_PCM_FLAG_CUSTOM_CHANNEL_NAME flag"
has been applied to the asoc tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git
All being well this means that it will be integrated into the linux-next tree (usually sometime in the next 24 hours) and sent to Linus during the next merge window (or sooner if it is a bug fix), however if problems are discovered then the patch may be dropped or reverted.
You may get further e-mails resulting from automated or manual testing and review of the tree, please engage with people reporting problems and send followup patches addressing any issues that are reported if needed.
If any updates are required or you are submitting further changes they should be sent as incremental updates against current git, existing patches will not be replaced.
Please add any relevant lists and maintainers to the CCs when replying to this mail.
Thanks, Mark

Together with patch "ASoC: Revert "samsung: Remove unneeded initialization of chan_name"" this fixes broken sound on the s3c24xx SoC platforms.
