OK, I'll merge to the upstream.

But then i started recording something with Audacity, using the external mic-in. There is the usual peak, so i saved the file and tried re-playing it, but now the sound is dead again. EAPD is indeed still enabled, but no more sound from any source. After a reboot, everything works again.

Make sure that it's no application problem or mixer setup problem. Try to reproduce with more simpler command sequence, such as,

% arecord -fdat -vv foo.wav % aplay foo.wav
