I just figured out that Sony released (in 2014?) the source code of their audio recorder PCM-D100: http://oss.sony.net/Products/Linux/Audio/PCM-D100.html

A patched ALSA version and a audio driver (GPL!) for the ICX platform (ARM) is available :-)
