[alsa-devel] Audiophile Delta 24/96 Midi Out continuously sends zeroes (alsa 1.0.14)
Hi,
My audiophile 24/96 Midi Out sends zeroes continuously, so I can't use any instrument. I checked that with amidi by looking at the stream output of a connected instrument (midi out -> instrument -> midi in -> amidi). Zeroes are sent whether or not I try to send (normal) midi messages.
I know it used some years ago (it was on win32 at that time). Midi In and the instrument do work perfectly.
M-Audio answered me that they don't yet support linux.
I'm using alsa 1.0.14 on debian/sid 2.6.22. I cannot tell if this worked with previous versions of alsa.
Anyone has an idea? Thank you
Romain

Would it be possible to connect the midi out directly to the midi in?
Is the number of transmitted bytes in /proc/asound/cardX/midi0 about correct?

I also tried it, same results.

I'll tell you this evening
Thank you !

Yes, the number is correct. After a reboot, I prepared amidi to output the incoming midi stream and switched on my instrument for 2 seconds approx : around 10kB of zeroes were counted by amidi and /proc/asound/card0/midi0.
Thank you !

Actually, the same exact number of zeroes were sent. I must acknowledge I used jack for connecting amidi... I looks like jack sends the zeroes as soon as it is started. Would someone have a clue ?
Thanks
Romain

That is, the zeroes are _not_ sent when you're not using jack? When nothing is connected, or when you use aplaymidi or amidi to send something, everything is OK?
