The latest ALSA driver (1.0.16rc2) should support better Gateway laptops with IDT/STAC codecs. Give it a try.

Or if you have any solution on how to configure such sound card like to work, please let me know as well.

See alsa-driver*/INSTALL file. Basically, it's just configure, make and make install.
