Well, KS day 1 is basically an open-day for workshops, AFAIK. (The days 2 and 3 are different.) So, it can be suitable for covering subsystem(s) specific problems.
Though, I also think LinuxCon/ELC would be a better choice, too.
If nothing else we can always arrange something in the hallway/beer tracks.
