[alsa-devel] Cache issue on BayTrail (ValleyView2) HD-audio
Hi Mengdong,
right now I'm playing onboard HD-audio on a Baytrail (ValleyView2) machine, not DP/HDMI output, and I noticed that the snooping doesn't seem working with this. The playback sometimes stutters / gets noises. This is a typical behavior with caching mismatch and indeed it works when I disable snooping via snoop=0 option.
Could you check whether this can be seen generically? Also, can anyone check whether snoop=0 for Baytrail HD-audio causes any issues?
In general, snoop=0 isn't too bad (IIRC, Windows does it as default), so we can turn it off at least for Baytrail as default.
thanks,
Takashi

Scratch that. This turned out to a false-positive, a wrong file was checked. Sorry for the noise.
