cat /sys/modules/snd_hda_intel/parameters/model gives
acer-aspire-4930g,<NULL>,<NULL>,<NULL>,<NULL>,<NULL>,<NULL>,<NULL>
Now the volume has dropped further. The subwoofer is not enabled. There is even no headphone jack toggle available in the mixer. Mic (internal and external) as well as headphones dont work.
Have attached alsa-info.sh 's output...

Yeah I added these 2 lines to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire-4930g
This is enough to pass the model option to the driver right?
Usually yes. Check /sys/modules/snd_hda_intel/parameters/model. Also, some relevant kernel message should appear if the model is selected.

I will post the alsa-info.sh output after I get back home from work.
