440 Hz is a frequency, not a wave.

A single sine wave does not have overtones, so it is not possible to apply the term "harmony".

I do not understand what you mean with "true".

Is there a constant for it in glibc, like M_PI?

What would be the use of a definition like "#define HZ_440 440"?
