Yes, I was. Thanks for confirming this.
No you weren't. But yes, I'll leave this issue be. It can't be debugged this way. Please note that when/if you upgrade to a newer kernel release you'll have to apply the OSS ES1371 driver restoration patch as posted at the beginning of this all again, so hang on to it.
