[alsa-devel] virtual alsa mixer device

hello,

I'd like to implement a mixer control device for an external amplifier, which can be controlled via rs232. would be nice to adjust volume with any alsa mixer program..

is there a way to do this in user space ? any hints for the right api / examples ?
