Please try with enable_msi=1:

sudo alsa force-unload && sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1 model=hp-dv5

Hi Daniel, I tried adding enable_msi=1 with and without model=hp-dv5 and now there is no sound at all even from the speakers.
