Thanks! Now applied to ALSA tree with slight modifications to follow the standard coding style. Also, your embedded patch was broken likely due to your MUA, so I had to apply it manually. Please check HG tree later if it is OK for you.

If the MUA problem cannot be fixed easily, please use attachments at the next time.

Sorry for the formatting inconvenience, I did not know of the flowed attribute for plain text email! Next time I'll take care. I downloaded HG sources with the changes and they worked smoothly on my computer, so for me it's all OK.
