Maybe not valid for your clocks but, if clocks are not HW implemented for this, changing parent at runtime could lead to glitches and thus to unexpected behavior. You to check if this could be valid on your hardware.
The TDM works as slave mode, it's bit clock comes from extern source. But defautly the clock of tdm always derives from internal clock after each reset. As internal clock derives from PLL2 (1188 MHz), it cannot be used for audio system with frequency division very well,so it must be switched to extern clock. There 's no problem doing this.
