I have an MSI MS-7350 motherborad with an onboard Realtek ALC888 HDA codec. I need to specify model=6stack-dig to get the internal CD connector to show up, else automatic BIOS scanning doesn't find it. Might be that you want to add the appropriate DMI/PCI quirk stuff, so other users get the benefit of automatic detection.
