[PATCH] ASoC: core: Exit all links before removing their components

Flows leading to link->init() and link->exit() are not symmetric. Currently the relevant part of card probe sequence goes as: for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_components(rtd, i, component) component->probe() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_dais(rtd, i, dai) dai->probe() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) rtd->init() On the other side, equivalent remove sequence goes as: for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_dais(rtd, i, dai) dai->remove() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_components(rtd, i, component) component->remove() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) rtd->exit() what can lead to errors as link->exit() may still operate on resources owned by its components despite the probability of them being freed during the component->remove(). This change modifies the remove sequence to: for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) rtd->exit() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_dais(rtd, i, dai) dai->remove() for_each_card_rtds(card, rtd) for_each_rtd_components(rtd, i, component) component->remove() so code found in link->exit() is safe to touch any component stuff as component->remove() has not been called yet. Since commit fcff5f99742e ("ASoC: tegra: remove unnecessary includes") the header file (which at the time was named tegra_das.h) there is only the actual driver that includes it. Just move the definitions into the driver, drop the exports and remove the completely unused function. [PATCH 0/3] soundwire: revisit peripheral driver bind/unbind

This patchset fixes the driver bind/unbind cases which are not well-supported today. I initially reported a race condition in March 2022 [1] and the more tests I ran the more timing assumptions crept to the surface. With this patchset, I've been able to bind the drivers in any order, and when all dependencies were available the card is created/registered. Likewise I was able to remove codec drivers while the bus was still running. The initial suggestion to use device_lock()/unlock() led to system hangs in suspend-resume that I was unable to root-cause after weeks of tests, hence this patchset relies on a SoundWire-specific lock doesn't interfere with other core device locking. I think it's a pretty important set of changes that would ideally be merged in this kernel cycle, so that we can finally add the inclusive 'manager/peripheral' language change in the next kernel cycle. CS35L41 has a DSP which is able to run firmware, as well as a tuning file. Different systems may want to use different firmwares and tuning files, and some firmwares/tunings may not be compatible with other systems. To allow a system to select the correct fimware/tuning, we can read an _SUB from the ACPI. This _SUB can then be used to uniquely identify the system in the firmware/tuning file name. Add a helper function which reads the _SUB, so this can be used by other parts in the future. Add support inside the CS35L41 ASoC driver to read this _SUB, and save it appropriately. [PATCH v2 00/14] ASoC: Intel: avs: Machine boards and HDA codec support

This series focuses on populating boards/ subdirectory with supported configurations by the avs-driver. Note: it is independent of recently provided "Driver code and PCM operations" series [1], that is, code found here should not collide with it. Series starts with a small change that adds a helper to sound pcm header, allowing for retrieving string naming a direction without the need of substream pointer. Said helper is used by codec driver code that follows it but I believe it's generic and helpful enough that it can be called an independent addition to the sound core. Code for generic HD-Audio codec driver follows. It is a ASoC wrapper for existing HD-Audio codec code found in sound/pci/hda/.
