Hi Takashi, Sparse reports a lot of new issues in our last checks with more options: export ARCH=x86_64 CF="-Wsparse-error -Wsparse-all -Wno-bitwise-pointer -Wno-pointer-arith -Wno-typesign -Wnoshadow -Wno-sizeof-bool" make -k sound/ C=2 most are linked to the __user and pcm_format_t restricted types, but I found the simpler ones below which are useless comparisons. I can send a patch for the last but not sure how to address the first two. Also, reintroduce the allocation failure check for rt5645->eq_param as well. Make all areas where return values are checked lead to the end of the function in the case of an error. Finally, introduce a comment explaining how resources here are actually eventually cleaned up by the caller. Because of recent interactions with developers from @umn.edu, all commits from them have been recently re-reviewed to ensure if they were correct or not. Upon review, this commit was found to be incorrect for the reasons below, so it must be reverted. It will be fixed up "correctly" in a later kernel change. Lots of things seem to be still allocated here and must be properly cleaned up if an error happens here. Fix this up by moving the sysfs files to an attribute group so the driver core will correctly add/remove them all at once and handle errors with them, and correctly check for creating a new workqueue and unwinding if that fails. During review of the RT5631 machine driver, Jon Hunter suggested that it will be better to squash all the current ASoC machine drivers into a single one. This suggestion is implemented by this patchset. The RT5631 support will come later with the ASUS Transformer changes. This series needs to be approved by Jaroslav Kysela before it can be merged. Changelog: v3: - Added components string as was suggested by Jaroslav Kysela to v2. - Renamed MCLK rate function that is used by max98090 and other codecs to make it look more generic. Added option for specifying CLK ID per device. This all was suggested by Jon Hunter to v2. v2: - Dropped use of of_device_compatible_match(), like it was suggested by Rob Herring in a review comment to v1. - Added patch that sets card's driver_name of as Tegra ASoC drivers. In a comment to v1 Jaroslav Kysela suggested that the Tegra drivers don't set the card name properly and he was right.
