[PATCH 0/7] Add I2S-MCC support for Microchip's SAMA7G5

SAMA7G5 includes an updated version of I2S-MCC, found previously on SAM9X60. This controller includes 8 data pins, 4 for playback and 4 for capture. For I2S and LEFT_J formats, these pins can be used to send/receive up to 8 audio channels. For DSP_A, with TDM, any pins pair (DIN/DOUT) from these 4 can be selected to send/receive data. This version also includes 2 FIFOs (send and receive). This patch set starts by moving the driver's bindings to yaml and continues with adding a new compatible for the SAMA7G5 variant, followed by the changes needed for I2S/LEFT_J support, TDM pin pair selection and FIFO support, exclusively for SAMA7G5. [PATCH] sound/usb generate midi streaming substream names from jack names

A number of devices have named substreams which are hard to remember / decypher from <device> MIDI n names. Eg. Korg puts a pass through on one substream and iConnectivity devices name the connections. This makes it easier to connect to the correct device. Devices which handle naming through quirks are unaffected by this change. The Corsair Virtuoso SE RGB Wireless is a USB headset with a mic and a sidetone feature. [PATCH v2] ALSA: hda/hdmi: let new platforms assign the pcm slot dynamically

If the platform set the dyn_pcm_assign to true, it will call hdmi_find_pcm_slot() to find a pcm slot when hdmi/dp monitor is connected and need to create a pcm. So far only intel_hsw_common_init() and patch_nvhdmi() set the dyn_pcm_assign to true, here we let tgl platforms assign the pcm slot dynamically first, if the driver runs for a period of time and there is no regression reported, we could set no_fixed_assgin to true in the intel_hsw_common_init(), and then set it to true in the patch_nvhdmi(). This change comes from the discussion between Takashi and Kai Vehmanen. Turning an external amplifier on or off when audio is played

Hello, I'm working with an embedded system that uses the SGTL5000 to play audio. We have an amplifier connected to the DAC output, which we can turn off using a GPIO pin. I'd like to automatically enable the amplifier before playing a sound and disable it after playback has completed. Are there any hooks that would allow me to do that in userspace? If not, is there something in kernel-space that would allow me to accomplish this? Thanks, Amr

The function daio_mgr_dao_init can be passed a 4 bit value, function dao_rsc_init calls it with conf set to: conf = (desc->msr & 0x7) | (desc->passthru << 3); so clearly when desc->passthru is set to 1 then conf can be at least 8. Fix this by changing the mask to 0xf.
