This patch swaps 'size' and 'nmemb' arguments of fread. The fread returns always 1 (because 'nmemb' is 1) so checking the return value is always failure. This is a v4l2 subdev driver supporting the TDA1997x HDMI video receiver. I've tested this on a Gateworks GW54xx/GW551x with an IMX6Q/IMX6DL which uses the TDA19971 with 16bits connected to the IMX6 CSI and single-lane I2S audio providing 2-channel audio. For this configuration I've tested both 16bit YUV422 and 8bit BT656 parallel video bus modes. While the driver should support the TDA1993 I do not have one for testing. From: furrywolf <alsa2(a)bushytails.net> First, after silencing the buffer 64 bits at a time, any remaining samples need to be silenced by the following width-specific code. However, instead of silencing the end of the buffer, the code instead re-silences the start of the buffer, leaving the end unsilenced. To fix this, update the pointer used by the width-specific code to point to the end of the area just silenced, instead of leaving it pointing to the start of the buffer. Second, the code for 24 bit samples can only silence a single sample, as there's no loop for multiple samples as with other formats. To fix this, add a loop similar to the ones used for every other width. The symptoms of these bugs are random data at the end of every supposedly silenced buffer with certain format/buffer size combinations, resulting in pops and noise. Skylake audio controller supports SPIB (Software Position in buffer) capability, which can be used to inform position of application pointer to host DMA controller. When SPIB mode is enabled, driver could write the application pointer position in SPIB register. Host DMA will make sure it won't read/write beyond bytes specified in SPIB register. SPIB mode will be useful in low power use cases, where DSP could pre-fetch large buffers to avoid frequent wakes caused due to interrupts. To support SPIB in the driver, save the spib values in stream context which can be restored during resume from S3. Add new hw_params flag to explicitly tell driver that rewinds will never be used.
