Currently we are using a fixed list of dai links in the driver. This serial of patches would let the driver parse dai links from dts, so that we can reorder/disable them in the dts. Tested on my chromebook bob(with cros 4.4 kernel), it still works after disabled rt5514 codec in the dts. [alsa-devel] [PATCH 0/3] Add support for playing a given number of samples

We introduce (patch 1) the option of playing only a given number of samples in order to reduce our simple test running time. Until now we can only limit them at 1 second (-d parameter). This patch series also refactors the playback function (patch 2) and fixes a bug with small raw files (patch 3). Unfortunately the new Boss Katana amps do not work fully with ALSA. The MIDI interfaces are exposed, but the audio interfaces are not. I suspect this is for similar reasons that the Boss GT-001 and GT-100 don't work. I've been meaning to try to find some time to look at this, but failing badly so far. The Cirrus Logic CS47L35, CS47L85, CS47L90/91 codecs are complex audio SoC devices. In addition to the core audio capability they have onboard GPIO, regulators, DSPs and interrupt controller and a large register map space accessed over SPI or I2C. This family of codecs is based around common IP blocks and they are managed by a set of common drivers referred to as "Madera". As suggested in reviews the requirement of clocks in the 'sound' node is dropped and instead a leaf clock is used to configure frequency of the audio root clock PLL. This can work now after the clock tree definitions have been updated to allow clock rate setting propagation on the path from the I2S controller up to the EPLL. This patch also lowers the CODEC master clock frequency so as to not exceed the maximum allowed 60 MHz at maximum audio sampling rates. Hi Mark These are bugfix patches for Renesas sound SSI driver. SSI1 can share clock pin with SSI0, and then, I had assumed that SSI0 clock output needs SSICR::EN bit. But, it wasn't. SSI0 clock output for SSI1 needs other settings which already sets, but EN was not needed. Because of this assumption, and SSICR::EN operation bug, it gets underrun error in some sound route. It implements the protocol from include/xen/interface/io/sndif.h with the following limitations: - mute/unmute is not supported - get/set volume is not supported Volume control is not supported for the reason that most of the use-cases (at the moment) are based on scenarious where unprivileged OS (e.g. Android, AGL etc) use software mixers. For dynamic compress rtd, the codec_dai may not have any actual meaning(like snd-soc-dummy-dai), so compress id can just use the value of dai_link->stream_name. But for others, its codec_dai has actual meaning, so compress id can include codec_dai name.
