[alsa-devel] No sound on samsung galaxy book 12 (HDA Intel ALC298)

Hi,

I have just installed ubuntu 16.04.3 on a samsung galaxy book 12.
I have no sound from either speakers or headphones.

the intel driver seems to be loaded .
I have tried all the tricks of unmuting sound in the alsa mixers to no avail.

aplay -l gives:
