You can code like

	case SNDRV_PCM_STATE_RUNNING:
	case SNDRV_PCM_STATE_DRAINING:
	case SNDRV_PCM_STATE_PAUSED:
	case SNDRV_PCM_STATE_SETUP:
		break; /* OK */
	default:
		retval = -EBADFD;
		break;
	}
