Today's stable snapshot did not compile for me. I have attached the terminal output. 
My current problems with unstable are indeed a regression. CA0110 (my Creative X-fi) used to work very well with alsa-driver-unstable, as did my hda-intel. I last installed unstable perhaps two weeks ago? and used it at that time to run Audacity and sound programs in wine. I was getting very good sound.
